³ INSTALLATION GUIDE  ³
ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ
   This guide provides 2 methods of installing RL2000(A) PNP adapter in
   Windows for Workgroup v3.11 using different drivers.

            o -- Using Microsoft NDIS2 driver, RLPNPA.DOS
            o -- Using Novell DOSODI driver, RLPNPA.COM


** - IMPORTANT 
     =========
  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Recommended you run RLASET configuration utility first before you
    proceed with installation of LAN adapter driver described below.

 Installing using NDIS2 driver in Windows For Workgroups 3.11
 ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ

     a) Startup Windows For Workgroups 3.11.

     b) In the Network folder, choose `NETWORK SETUP' icon.

     c) In the Network Setup dialog box, choose the DRIVERS button.

     d) The NETWORK DRIVER box appears. Choose the ADD ADAPTER
        button.

     e) The ADD NETWORK ADAPTER box appears. From the list of network
        adapters, select `Unlisted or Updated Network Adapter' option.

     f) The INSTALL DRIVER box appears. Insert driver diskette in floppy
        drive A and type the path of the NDIS driver.

              eg.     A:\WFW311

        Choose the OK button
	
     g) The Unlisted or Updated Network Adapter box appears. Inside
        this box, 'Compex RL2000(A) PNP Series Ethernet Adapter' appears
        highlighted. Choose the OK button.

     h) In the Network Drivers dialog box, 'Compex RL2000(A) PNP Series
        Ethernet Adapter' appears highlighted. Choose the CLOSE button.

        Note: In the case of multiple adapters, you MUST choose the SETUP
              button and then select the ADVANCED button to specify a
              different adapter number for each card.
              Please refer to 'DRIVER CONFIGURATION PARAMETER' section.

     i) Close the setup program and restart Windows for Workgroup v3.11

     k) RL2000A-PNP adapter is now ready for operation.


 Install using DOS ODI driver in Windows For Workgroups 3.11
 ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ

     a) Install NetWare Client for DOS support to local drive C
        If you don't have NetWare Client for DOS installation disk,
        Make a directory NWCLIENT at the root of your local drive C.
        Then copy from RL2000A driver distribution \DOSODI directory all the
        file to C:\NWCLIENT directory;

             A:\DOSODI\*.* C:\NWCLIENT

     b) Edit AUTOEXEC.BAT and add the following lines;

            Path = C:\NWCLIENT;%PATH%
            C:\NWCLIENT\LSL
            C:\NWCLIENT\RLPNPA
            C:\NWCLIENT\IPXODI
            
     c) Start Windows For Workgroups 3.11.

     d) In the Network folder, choose the Network Setup icon.

     e) In the Network Setup dialog box, choose the DRIVERS button.

     f) The Network Drivers box appears. Choose the ADD ADAPTER
        button.

     g) The Add Network Adapter box appears. From the list of network
        adapters, select Unlisted or Updated Network Adapter.

     h) The Install Driver box appears. Insert driver diskette
        into floppy drive and type the path of the driver.
         eg.     A:\WFW311 <enter>
	
     i) In the Network Drivers dialog box, 'Compex RL2000A PnP Ethernet
        Adapter' appears highlighted. Choose the CLOSE button.

     j) Back to the Network Setup box, Choose the OK button to save.

     k) Windows will continue and copy the necessary files to the local
        drive C:\Windows directory.

     l) When prompt for the NET.CFG file path, enter C:\NWCLIENT

     m) When completed, you will be prompted to Restart Computer.
        Remove the distribution disk from drive A and press Enter to
        restart computer.

     n) RL2000(A) PNP adapter is now ready to operate.

³ DRIVER CONFIGURATION PARAMETER ³
ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ

 Paramter:
            Adapter Number = n

                           where n has a range of 1 to 4


 This parameter provided muliple Rl2000(A)-PNP adapters to be install in a
 PC running on the same driver..
 It specifies which adapter the driver is going to control.
 Driver automatically search for RL2000A PNP series adapters and initialize
 the adapter number in sequence.
 For single adapter, the default is 1.
