OfficeTalk V1.5 (C) HELP CONSULTING 1999-2000
RELASE NOTES AND INSTALLATION HELP
OfficeTalk allows you to communicate with your co-workers
(or family-members) who are connected together through
a LAN (Local Area Network). Simply select the computer
you wish to send a message too, type in your message
and press the send button. Within a second or two, the
person on the other end will recieve a notification of an
incoming message.
NOTE: Both computers must have OfficeTalk installed
and running.
Most companies today have two or more computers connected
via some type of mediam. With OfficeTalk, it doesn't matter
how the computers are connected as long as they have
the Microsoftİ WinPopUp installed, then they'll be talking in
no time.
Uses for OfficeTalk
The easiest thing to do here is to tell you how other customers
are using OfficeTalk!
Simple Mail
Don't have an in-house eMail server and can't afford to put
one in? OfficeTalk to the rescue. If you've got a simple
message to send to a collegue, type it in and let 'er rip.
When it arrives, if the person you sent it to wants to save
it, they can copy and paste it into an eMail archive using
their favorite word processor. You can save your messages
to file or Load a previously saved Chat session.
Out to Lunch - Note Taker
Let's say you're leaving for lunch. First open OfficeTalk
and clear any prior conversations in the chat window.
Now minimize OfficeTalk back to the taskbar. Walah!
While your gone your secretary , receptionist or anybody
else can send you a note. When you get back, if you
see a blinking icon in your taskbar, then you've got
messages waiting.
Talk to two people at once: Phone/Computer
Let's say your on the phone with a client and your
partner, who's sitting in an office two floors down needs
to talk to you but can't get through. All s/he has to do
is jot down the question in OfficeTalk and press send.
You can continue talking with your client and answer
the question at the same time.
