Whisper FTP Surfer Version 1.0.4
FTP Surfer provides two methods of connecting to FTP sites, using
either the address bar to enter an FTP site address or, by creating
a new site profile which always appear as part of the neighborhood
tree view.
The address bar allows you to quickly connect to an FTP site simply
by entering an FTP site address and pressing return. Using the
default application settings and the login name anonymous, FTP
Surfer will connect to the FTP site adding a new item to the tree
view which can be used explore the site. The FTP site can be
specified in the following ways:
· FTP site domain name (ftp.whispertech.com)
· IP address (194.126.79.81)
· URL (ftp://ftp.whispertech.com/software/surfer.exe)*
* In addition to providing FTP site name and relative path, a URL
can also include username, password and port number which is
commonly used on internet web pages when specifying ftp download
links.
Alternatively, you can define a site profile for a new connection,
this provides complete control over the settings for the site,
username, password, login directory, connection retries etc. This is
the preferred option for users not connecting to an anonymous FTP
site.
