K.56 RAM Based DSP version 2.081-03 firmware Changes from 2.081-xx to 2.200-01 ----------------------------------------- 1. Fixed the carat "^" calling string modifier so it will not drop the next digit following it. 2. 2 meg code now has the #UD Diagnostic commands returned. V0.86 of the AT#UD specification is partially supported. 3. Abbreviated &v1 responses 4. Speed knob: Speed knob has been removed from this build. We will attempt to put it back into the next beta build. 5."+++" Escape Sequence Escape from data mode is implemented using T.I.E.S. (Time Independent Escape Sequence). To escape to command mode, issue +++(no time restriction between the +s), then send a valid AT command. 6.Fast Retrain: A fast retrain scheme is supported in this release, which allows the modem to do a rate reneg and update its echo chancellor. If connected in V.90 mode on the second rate reneg down, a fast retrain will be initiated. 7. Corrected the incorrect connect messages for Bell212 mode. 8. Improved connectivity to 3Com servers with 3dB pad and RX Level >42K 9. Improved dual PCM detection algorithm for V.90 mode Changes from 1.12x to 2.081-03 ----------------------------------- 1) An additional modulation field in the +MS command is added to support V.90 2) A-law/u-law selection can be done via AT%Un command where n=0 for u-law and n=1 for A-law 3) V2.081 uses V.8bis as a default start sequence. To disable V8bis (not recommended) issue AT+A8E=,,,0. 4) he DLP and DLL models of V2.081 support 230.4K bps DTE speed when used with TAPI compliant applications under Windows 95. 5) Increased connectivity on 6db padded lines 6) Lockup if ATH issued in V.80 online command mode fixed. 7) Random lockups on hangup fixed by resetting datapump on hangup. 8) Sending and detecting Bell answer tone fixed. Connect messages incorrect for Bell212 mode fixed. 9) Added CI detection when voice call first in data mod. 10) No Protocol connections to 3Com servers on marginal lines by forcing LAPM in V.90 mode if V.8bis fixed. Changes from 1.120r-04 to 1.120-05 ----------------------------------- 1) A change to MIC gain for International speakerphone models was made. 2) All SVD commands/functions removed from International builds. This change will be moved to US probably in the next build. Currently the US builds still support V.61 SVD. 3) Problem with Assigning +Fclass=1.0 fixed. 4)The default values for S91/92 for Korea was changed from 16 to 15. The register is only 4 bits (0-15). Setting any countries value to less than 15 (values are negative so 16 is less than 15) will cause voice mode to treat the entry as 0, railing the output to max. 5) A problem with &F1 (MAC) profile was fixed. This problem caused MAC modems not to have data connection problems with some K56 server side modems. Changes from 1.120r-03 to 1.120-04 ----------------------------------- 1) A problem with the transition from voice mode to fax mode when in receive mode was fixed Changes from 1.120r-02 to 1.120-03 ----------------------------------- 1) The following commands where added: a. I91: Returns: nn: 00 = Installed ROM dosn't support Diamond flasher. 01 = Has ASCII type flasher support. b. #NVM=7: Clears the NVMRAM cookie. If coupled with ATZ (AT#NVM=7Z), will rewrite contents of NVMRAM. Only the country code and serial number data are saved. c. #RES=7: This is a cold start reset. No response is returned. The modem will be off line for the normal start period (typically 5 seconds ) e. "?: Returns eight character serial number. 4) Fixed problem with connect message in \V1 mode. The 'K56' label was not being output when there was a K56 connection. 5) Default for S24 for all K56_DLL (PC Cards) was changed from '0' to '10'. This is sleep inactivity timer. 6) Cellular support capabilities have been added to PC Card. 7) The response for AT** was changed to use Rockwell's original (download initiated...). This was required to allow the Upgrade Wizard to work correctly. ---[Changes from 1.120r-00 to 1.120-02]--- Modem is now K56Flex 1.1 compliant. Resolves connect issues with Lucent based racks. Country support for domestic modems are: US, Japan,Korea and Singapore. CTS/DSR where being asserted to early after power on. DSR and CTS are now asserted at the tail end of modem power on. Command #SPD=[0-8] and SREG109 added to support how aggressive the initial K56 connection is. The default is 5. Increasing the value makes the modem more aggressive. Note that the modem through put can be less even if the modem connects at a high rate. If the modem supports NVRAM, AT&W must be issued to retain new value after a power reset or ATZ. The data and fax flow control water marks where optimized. They have been adjusted for better buffer control. The user will notice less CTS action in a typical session. A problem with V.8bis detection in the presence of calling tones for countries with calling tone enabled (international modems) was resolved. An error in the NVRAM recall routine was fixed. Certain system variables not initialized properly. ---[Changes from 1000r-03 to 1000r-04]--- Fixed several problems with DTMF tones and Data/fax/voice mode switching ---[Changes from v.519-01 to v1.000-03]--- Updated DSP code to allow greater PCM connectivity. Fixed some flow control problems that were seen under a limited number of loop impairments. Fixed Fax Class 1 post call disconnect sequence and V.17 fax timing problems. Fixed direct mode connections. V.8 added in default start sequence. Fax CNG tone Detection improved. Improved connectivity to NoN-Rockwell base modems. Retrains allowed in k56 mode. Hang up and DTR toggle now acted upon equally.
