GEAR IDE/SCSI recorder support update

This is an update for GEAR 4.2, Replicator 1.2,


GEAR Audio 1.0 and GEAR Webgrabber 2.2,

Copy the file GEARUpdate.exe to the GEAR program 


directory (e.g. "C:\Program Files\Elektroson\GEAR 4.2\") 


and run it, in order to update your GEAR software.


In addition the following must be done:





Windows 95 users:





Copy the file MINIASPI.VXD to your


windows\system\iosubsys directory and reboot.


If you are using the first Windows 95 release


(July/Aug 95, build 4.00.950 or 4.00.950a) it is 


advised to update certain system files. These 


files can be found in IOSUPD.zip. This zip file 


contains a readme file on how to install these 


system files.








Windows NT 4.0 users:





Re-run the NT 4 reader driver installer (Cdrinst.exe)


located in the /Drv_WNT directory under your program


directory. Make sure it uses the new GEARCDR.CFG


file as new input file (you can use the 'browse' button


to select the new GEARCDR.CFG file).

KNOWN PROBLEMS:





Reading Video CD data with the Mitsumi drive will 


result in read errors.





Copying a Video CD with Replicator and the Philips


CDD3610 will result in a non-playable Video disc.


A Video CD read with readtrack through GEAR 4.2


and written as a CD track list works fine.





Writing a CD-i disc with the Sony 928 will result


in a non-playable CD-i.
