Utility:     	Firm412.EXE - Firmware Upgrade program for Win95/NT

PROCEDURE:

1. How to use Firm412.EXE:
	
	Step 1. connect PX-R412C with jumper setting for firmware download 
		as indicated below.

	Step 2. Put the Firmware Upgrade file (Firm412.exe) and 
		the Firmware Binary file (R412C10x.BIN) in the directory
		where the Plextor Manager files are located.
		(Win95 default: \Program Files\Plextor96\ )

	Step 3. check LED's as indicated below. 
	Step 4. Execute Firm412.EXE 
	Step 5. verify the contents of the firmware window for the name of 
		the file containing the new firmware. 		
	Step 6. Click on 'update'.
		After the update, the LED's will start flashing again.
	Step 7. Power down, remove the 'flash' jumper, power up.
		Verify the new firmware version by means of the Plextor Manager.


2. Jumper (DIP SW) setting.

	First of all you need to install a jumper to enable download.
	Note : Please be carefull when you set this jumper .
	       Do not install the jumper when the power is on.
	      	       
	Rear side of view of PX-R412C :
	
	                    BLOCK
	        SCSI-ID     | FLASH
	        | | |       | |
	        . . . . . . . .   
	        . . . . . . . .   SCSI connector
	 PCB side           ---   <- jumper
		        
 
   Install the jumper as above between BLOCK and FLASH on the PCB side(!) only.
   The other jumpers have no influence .

   If the jumper setting is OK, switch on the power.
   All 4 LED's should blink simultaneously as shown below.
	
	DISC ON 1X 2X
	  o  o  o  o  <- blinking.
	
   If they do not, please verify the jumper setting again.
