Quick Tips
- Turn down the MIC Input using the Effect Gear 2 software to reduce the amount of background noise that you may hear from your SW60XG. If your MIC is not in use why have the mic pre-amps enabled?
- Remember that the MIC Input has a selector for both dynamic and condenser MIC Input, this may be the reason why your MIC input is not working. You have the wrong kind of MIC plugged in for the jumper setting that you have enabled.
- Set up the port address on the SW60XG to match the most common MIDI port setting in your games. But remember that your SoundBlaster card may be using 330 or 300 by default and therefore you may get conflicts when using these address locations for games. A good port location alternative is 310.
- In Windows NT4.0 and NT3.51, the SW60XG will function perfectly well as a generic MPU401 compatible device. This is how we have ours configured here at Yamaha UK. Please remember though that you should not try to use port 300 or 330h under NT if you are using SCSI, as these port address locations are commonly used by SCSI cards such as the Adaptec 1542c. The XG Edit application (available for free download from the Software Page of this website) also works perfectly under Microsoft Windows NT4.0.
