If you need to change the COM Port or IRQ settings, after the initial installation, run the "CSETUP.EXE" program again. It will automatically run through and detect everything on your system. During the system check, it will also check for device conflicts. If you have PC Anywhere v4.5 installed in your system, Close-Up will modify your SYSTEM.INI and WIN.INI files to remove any statements added by PC Anywhere. Close-Up will not run unless these statements are removed. After "CSETUP.EXE" is finished configuring the software, there are a couple changes that need to be made: 1. Run the CHOST program using the EDIT option(i.e. "CHOST.EXE EDIT"). When the init string screen appears, change the Reset String from "AT\", to "ATZ\". 2. The Hang-Up string is specified as "+++^^^ATH0\", and should be changed to "+++^^^+++ATH0\".M The above changes should also be applied to the copy of Close-Up running on the remote machine(run "CREMOTE EDIT" instead). By making the above two changes, the software should work fine. TERMINAL MODE: Run the "CREMOTE" program and pull down the "Setup" menu. Make sure the COM Port number is correct, and select "Modem Initialization and Control:". It will then initialize your modem and put you into terminal mode. Everything you type will be echoed twice, so don't be confused by this. One other thing to note, is if you have your port speed set above 4800bps, you will notice character loss when you attempt to display your modem's ATI4 or ATI5 screens. Since the terminal screen is not big enough to show all of the ATI4 or ATI5 screen anyway, we suggest using this terminal only to get "AT" and "OK" responses.
