If you have multiple modems installed in your computer, you will be unable to use them with FaxWorks, short of removing the other modem(s) during installation or while using the software. CHANGE PORT: Configured through the "Modem Diagnostics" icon in the "FaxWorks Pro" program group. The software automatically selects the first modem it finds. There is no good way around this. CHANGE IRQ: The software uses the settings in the Windows Control Panel. INIT STRING: Start FaxWorks Pro v3.0 and pull down the "Fax" menu. Select "Fax Setup". You can change the init string on this screen by selecting the appropriate check boxes. On the upper left hand side of the screen are the flow control options. Make sure that the XON/XOFF check box is selected, and that the CTS box is not checked. Your init string should now read: "AT&H2&I2". Note: Do not use "&F" in the initialization string. This will take the modem out of fax mode, and into data mode, before dialing. TERMINAL MODE: None, this is a fax only program. Note: FaxWorks Pro has troubles identifying our modems and also has trouble identifying maximum fax speeds with v.FC and v.34 modems(primarily those that support Class 2.0 FAX). Because of this, you will be limited to a maximum FAX speed of 9600 baud.
