Insert the program disk and type INSTALL. 2. Select Full Installation/New Installation, then Selective Configuration/Dialing Directory. Do NOT select ACT or MNP add-ins. 3. As part of the installation, you are prompted to run the setup program. Select Complete Setup, then set the video, colors, and COM Port as desired. 4. Select Modem/Direct Connection, then U.S. Robotics modem script to program the modem. 5. Set the Printer Setup and Dialing Method, rotary(pulse) or tone. 6. Change the default port speed to F19200 for our 14.4k modems, and F38400 for our faster modems. 7. Change the initialization string to "AT&B1&H1&R2S27=128|"(The | character is used to terminate the string and denotes a carriage return). 8. Answer no to further changes. The program will then save all changes and return to DOS. Edit Script File(for default settings) 1. Start the program by typing "MIRROR". You need to edit the STD.XTK script file to set hardware flow control as the default. 2. Press the key, and select File, Modify, then STF.XTK. 3. Press the F5 key and type Handshake. 4. Type U in response to the Option prompt. The cursor moves to a line containing HANDSHAKE OFF. Change this to read HANDSHAKE ON, and press the F3 key. The file is saved and the Dialing Directory reappears. 5. For this change to take effect, you must exit and restart the program. Press the key, and select "Quit, Exit to DOS". The program will end and return to the DOS prompt. Restart the program by typing MIRROR. Terminal Mode: 1. To enter Terminal Mode, type GO LOCAL at the command line. 2. To exit, press the HOME key.
