Make sure the software is configured as shown below:

Speed Format Menu:
Trans. Speed:        19.2
Limits:              19.2
Flow Control:        RTS/CTS check box "Always Use Speed Above(19.2)"
Modem Setup String:  AT&F&B1&H1&R2&A0X4 check box "Use Reduced Command 
                                                   Set".

SmartCom Fax v1.0B for DOS:
DIP Switches: 3, 5, and 8 DOWN(ON)

All options are found on both the Main Menu and under the
"Communications" option.

CHANGE PORT:  Open the Communications screen. This is set on the
              fourth line down.

CHANGE IRQ:  This program uses standard default IRQ values which can
             not be changed.

INIT STRING:  Open the Setup Screen. The init string can be set on the
              second line down.  Change the init string to
              AT&F&H3&R2&I2S7=90S36=0.

TERMINAL MODE:  This is a FAX only program. No terminal mode is
                available.
