If the Winmodem is not performing properly, you may want to verify that these lines exist. The following line is modified for Winmodem use: drivers=C:\WINMODEM\WINMODEM.DRV (Note: there may or may not be other drivers listed on this line. These are Winmodem specific.) Below is a sample setting for the Winmodem on Com 3 Irq 5. If you are using a different Com Port and IRQ, please change these numbers as needed. Also, for Windows 3.1x users, the setting in the Control Panel should be set to match that of the modem to ensure everything functions correctly. These settings are found under the Control Panel/Ports/Settings/Advanced section and is where the base I/O address and IRQ are set for this modem. [386enh] device=C:\WINMODEM\WINMODEM.386 Com3Base=03E8 Com3Irq=5 Com3AutoAssign=2 Com3Buffer=8192 [Winmodem] Dynamic=No This tells the modem whether the card, or the BIOS should take control of configuring the modem. When set to `yes', it will leave the card configured as it is by the Plug and Play settings of the machine (i.e. Bios, ICU...). When set to `no', this indicates that even if the machine has already configured the card, the Winmodem software should override the configuration with the values set in the SYSTEM.INI. This setting is represented by the checkbox in the Winmodem Configuration Utility's main window. Logfile=Yes ComPort=COM3 IRQ=5 Base=210 (110,170,210,2F0,370 are the only acceptable values) Additional Flags with Default settings: ForceBridgeOrRouter=FALSE (When set to TRUE, it forces a bypass of the communications driver if the original communications driver is detected ) ForceRouter=FALSE (When set to TRUE, it forces a bypass of COMM.DRV) Windows WIN.INI ( Win 3.1X ) load=C:\WINMODEM\wmconfig.exe C:\WINMODEM\Winmodem.exe ( Non Winmodem Drivers may be present on this line also. ) InitAtStartup=FALSE (This is used to initialize the Winmodem VxD before executing WINMODEM.EXE. This is mostly used for Windows 95 )
