The Winmodem under Windows 3.1 Installation Tips Note: The Winmodem is strictly designed to work on IBM PC based machines, running Windows 3.1 and Windows 95. The modem will not work under DOS, a DOS Window, or any other type of machine. 1. Turn off your computer and install the Winmodem into an available ISA slot. 2. Turn the computer back on and load Windows. 3. Place the Windows 3.1 Winmodem installation disk into your disk drive. 4. Select File. 5. Select Run. 6. Type a:install(b:install if in your second drive) in the dialog box. 7. Click OK. 8. Follow the installation prompts. 9. If a screen labeled Configurator appears on the screen when Windows restarts, you will need to select a Com Port and IRQ for the Winmodem to use. 10. If you need help determining which Com Port or IRQ to use, please refer to the Winmodem manual. Uninstallation Tips: 1. Turn off your computer and remove the Winmodem from the system. 2. Turn the computer back on and start Windows. 3. Go to the Winmodem program group and double-click on Uninstall. Troubleshooting: * The Winmodem will only work under Windows 95, Windows 3.1, Windows 3.11, and Windows for Workgroups. It will not work under Windows NT, OS/2, Unix, DOS, or a DOS window. * If after the installation of the Winmodem you see the message "DSP 1010 ERROR" or "EEPROM Corrupt" when the modem is in use, the modem will need to be repaired.
