No Call Acceptance with Columbus World Fax

Problem

The fax application does not react when calls are coming in.

Reasons

• The own call number is not entered correctly.
• The PBX does not send along the called number (= called Party Number).

Solution

• Check, how your own number is configured for the fax application.
  This is possible in Columbus Fax with EXTRAS / SETTINGS / MISCELLANEOUS.

  Under Own dial number the format should look as follows:

  <countrycode> <area code without 0> <phone number> <private extension number>

  With some PBXs it is possible, that you ONLY need to enter the private extension number as your call number.

• In case your PBX transfers no called Party Number, you are given the possibility of telling the application to respond to ALL incoming calls. This is done over the entry AcceptedMSN=* in the file ITK.INI in the Windows directory under the section [FAX].

  CAUTION! From now on phone calls, which are coming in on the ISDN Bus, are accepted by the fax application as well.
