Digi International, Inc. Port Server Device Drivers Release Notes (Beta 6)

This is the release notes for the Beta 6 device drivers for the:

AccelePort® USB 2   (1.0b4)
AccelePort® USB 4   (1.0b6)
AccelePort® USB 8   (1.0b2)

The changes since the last version:

• Version string change
• No changes to the 8 port driver since the last submitted version.
• The 2 and 4 port drivers have been fixed to properly deal with multiple port usage at one time.
• The 4 port now does RTS/CTS instead of DSR/DTR

Engineering Test Results:

• There has been minimal testing by engineering on these versions.  The testing has been focused on specific bugs.  The PPP testing has been done on the 4 port.  All reported testing in Beta 2 is still the same for the 8 port.

• If the "Open Tpt Serial Arbitrator" is removed, the printing installation is easier and more reliable.

• Apple's "Modem" control panel does not support Modems connected to the printer port (i.e. the Port 1 on all Digi devices)

Testing To be done:

• no further engineering testing plans.

Installation Instructions:

1) Disconnect any Digi Device from the USB bus
2) Boot the machine
3) Drag the files:
     - AccelePort® USB 2 (version 1.0b4)
     - AccelePort® USB 4 (version 1.0b6)
     - AccelePort® USB 8 (version 1.0b2)
     - SerialShimLib (version 1.0)
onto the System Folder.
4) When asked if you would like the files placed in the extensions folder, click OK
5) When asked if you would like to replace the files, click OK
6) Plug the Digi Devices back into the USB bus

or

1) Disconnect any Digi Device from the USB bus
2) Boot the machine
3) Drag the files: (you only need to install the one AccelePort driver for the one device
that will be used)
     - AccelePort® USB 2 (version 1.0b4)
     - AccelePort® USB 4 (version 1.0b6)
     - AccelePort® USB 8 (version 1.0b2)
     - SerialShimLib (version 1.0)
into the "Extensions" folder within the "System Folder".
4) Plug the Digi Devices back into the USB bus
