BUG FIXES This release includes all bug fixes from any previous version of driver software release for the supported adapters. Digi DataFire RAS firmware was updated to M3P which includes the following fixes: - Added Q.931 cause codes to modem command results. - Reduced the value of the inter-digit timer (DID_DIGIT_TIMEOUT) to 3 seconds instead of the initial 15 seconds. - Sending faxes drove up utilization on system to where card was unusable. - Modified the B Channel implementationto be restricted to only DFRAS 30/60. - Added Caller ID on Acceleport RAS. - Fixed the "ATDT;" command result on a T1 line. - Fixed E1R2 timeout problem with Ericsson switch. - Fixed the AT+FPS? cmd response. - Added DataFire RAS T1/E1 channel mapping option. - V.110 support at 9600, 14400, 19200, and 38400 baud - E1R2 signaling issues - E1R2 busy detection - E1R2 processing of empty dial string - Caller ID support - Break Signal propagation - Modem disconnect on CRC error during V.90 EC negotiation - 7 bit Parity/Databit - +MS values stored in NVRAM - "*" and "#" characters now supported in phone number - ATFn command supported - PAM support for modem call hangup - DSR on when AT&S1 received - Blacklisted numbers not clearing for Signapore - Hangup problem in ISDN TA mode when DTR dropped - Distinctive ring fixes - Busy-out command with Wink Start Signalling - Answer problems with no error correction set on receiver and set on originator - Memory leak in PPP authentications - PRI-MSA signaling handled not supported on standard DataFire RAS boards. - Line code violations using AMI coding - E1 mapping between physical and logical channel numbers fixed - V.23 automode fallback from V.22bis - Minimum tone detectors (modem and fax) extended to reduce falsing under voice - V.8 startup timing Digi DataFire SYNC 2000 firmware was updated to Version 2.7. This firmware version fixes the phasing of the receive clocks for cable ids 1 and 6. This is for external clocking only. Incorrect modem country configuration for DataFire RAS 24/48 and 30/60 boards Port Assist Viewer doesn't display DataFire RAS 30/60 boards in E1R2 mode Port Assist Viewer doesn't display ISDN layer 3 status Port Assist Viewer faults when clearing statistics Inf for DataFire RAS and AccelePort RAS modem specifies use of Fax Class 2 instead of Class 1. Fixed timeout problem when making a fax connection. Fixed wink digit setting: ring back on dense modems happened 15 seconds after start of call. DataFire Sync 2000 adpater the PCI 2.1 enable bit in the PLX 9080 chip was getting cleared. KNOWN LIMITATIONS Installation/User Interface: You must follow the procedure outlined in the "DRIVER INSTALLATION NOTES FOR WINDOWS 2000" section of this document to properly install the driver set. Within the wizard mode, if invalid input has been entered and back button is pressed, an error message may appear indicating that the input is invalid. A valid input needs to be entered to be able to go back. PortAssist Viewer: PortAssist Viewer is the diagnostics application used to troubleshoot problems on your WAN connections. There is no Start menu link to run PortAssist Viewer. To run PortAssist Viewer, choose Start|Run and enter Digiview. If you reconfigure or install adapters while PortAssist Viewer is running, you are prompted to reboot for those changes to take effect. PortAssist Manager: PortAssist Manager is the web based monitoring tool for Acceleport Xp, Acceleport RAS, and DataFire RAS adapters. If you reconfigure or install adapters while PortAssist Manager is running, you are prompted to reboot for those changes to take effect. RAS Adapters: On Channelized T1 Wink Start Trunks without dial tone supervision, modems must be initialized with ATX3 for dial out. When configuring dial up modem service for a line, all modems on the line should be configured since incoming calls may be assigned to any channel. On ISDN Trunks, the following rules are applied to modem dial strings: 1. A comma (delay) in the first or second position is allowed. 2. Then the first non-numeric character terminates the dial string (e.g. 9,12345678 is a valid dial string and 9,1,234-5678 is not). The Backward and GroupB signal ranges listed for the E1/R2-configured lines of a DataFire RAS 24/28/30/60 are displayed incorrectly in the adapter properties page of the Device Manager. The range displayed is 16-30, but it is interpreted internally as 1-15 -- i.e., the actual signal value used by the driver is computed by subtracting 15 from the value displayed in the properties page. It follows that, for instance, to enter a signal value of 5, one should actually enter the value 20. AccelePort Xp Adapters: RTS toggle is not supported. SYNC Adapters: When using the SDLC interface, the maximum BTU (Basic Transmission Unit) is limited to 521 bytes. This is a known limitation of the IBM SDLC link service provided in SNA Server. See the Microsoft SNA article, "Maximum BTU Limit for Dumb SDLC Interface" for more information. Sync/570 Adapters: When installing additional Sync/570 adapters, a system reboot is required to complete the installation. The new adapters will not function until the system is rebooted. DRIVER INSTALLATION NOTES FOR WINDOWS 2000 Note: Update Driver functionality is not currently supported. If you have already installed drivers for your adapter, you must uninstall them first. Otherwise, skip to step 2. 1. Uninstall previously installed drivers. From "Control Panel" run "Add/Remove Hardware" wizard. Follow instructions to "Uninstall" your Digi adapter(s) supported by this driver. 2. Run the program DgClean.cmd to remove existing INF files for your adapter. This will ensure the new drivers will be installed correctly. Dgclean.cmd is located in the folder with your downloaded drivers. 3. Shutdown your computer and install the adapter according to the "Hardware Installation Instructions" included with the adapter. 4. Start your computer and login. When the "Found New Hardware Wizard" appears, follow instructions to "Search for a suitable driver for my device". Specify the folder in which you downloaded the driver. 5. Windows will display a "Digital Signature Not Found" message, explaining that the drivers are not signed. Click "Yes" to continue the installation. You will see several of these warnings, click "Yes" to continue through all of them. 6. Follow instructions to complete the installation. 7. The "Found New Harware Wizard" may appear several times more depending on the number and type of adapters you are installing.
