Telnet in and out of PortServer
Telnet in and out of PortServer Telnet in and out of PortServer

Symptom:

When a telnet session is established to a PortServer and another telnet is used to "telnet out" of the PortServer, produces the following error:

err#43 : telnet : access to this port denied.

Cause:

  • The PortServer product does not support the ability to telnet in and then telnet out. You can only telnet out of the PortServer from a serial connection (terminal, modem etc...)

Solutions:

  • Our PortServer II, PortServer TS and Digi One TS/RP products have the capability to establish outgoing telnet session when a user is logged into the unit via telnet.
