Resetting a PortServer (II) Configuration to Factory Defaults Resetting a PortServer (II) Configuration to Factory Defaults

Use this procedure to reset the PortServer configuration to factory defaults.

Important: You will lose all PortServer settings when you reset your PortServer to factory defaults. If you have a complex configuration, call Digi Technical Support for assistance.

Hardware Procedure:

Power on the PortServer (II) while simultaneously pressing both arrow buttons on the front of the PortServer (II).
Hold these buttons down until EP is displayed on a PortServer (II).
Reboot the PortServer (II) and then reconfigure it.

Command Line Procedure:

At the command prompt type #> boot action=eewrite.
NOTE: This procedure assumes you have logged in as root.
