REALPORT DRIVER INSTALLATION UNDER WINDOWS 2000 or XP REALPORT DRIVER INSTALLATION UNDER WINDOWS 2000 or XP

 

   Procedure: Make sure you have previously configured the Device/Terminal Server Unit for RealPort.
   If not, make sure you have the latest firmware and then if you have the:
   1.  PortServer/PortServer II search the knowledge base for "RealPort" and follow the "Configuring Digi PortServer (II or TS) and Digi One
        Device Servers for RealPort in Windows NT, 2000 or XP" prior to installing the RealPort Driver.
   2.  Digi One SP/IA use the Setup Wizard to select the Incoming, RealPort scenario.
   3.  PortServer TS and Digi One (RealPort, TS, RealPort IA, EM) use the Web Interface to configure the Serial Port for RealPort.
   NOTE:
The installation of the other terminal server products is the same, except for the product type selected.

  1. Go to Control Panel and select the Add/Remove Hardware Wizard.

                                                                                                                     
  2. Click Next.

  3. Select the option to Add/Troubleshoot a device.  Click Next.

                                                                                                                    

   4.    Select the option to Add a new device.  Click Next.
         
                                                                                                                          

    5.    Select the option to choose hardware from a list.  Click Next.
          
                                                                                                                           

    6.    Select Multi-port Serial Adapter from the list of Hardware Types.
           Click Next.
           
                                                                                                                             

    7.   Select Have Disk.

    8.    You can type in the path to the driver or browse to the location you
have extracted it. You can select either Digirp or Digirprt and select Open.
          
                                                                                                         

    9.    From the driver listing, select Digi PortServer and click Next.
          
                                                                                                                           

   10.    It will find the Digi PortServer.  Click Next.
               
                                                                                                                            

   11.   It will come back warning you the driver is not digitally signed.  Click Yes.
           
                                                                                                             

   12.    You will need to enter the same IP Address you initially set up for the PortServer from the set config command. 
             NOTE: Leave the TCP port set to 771
           
                                                                                                               

   13.   Give the PortServer a name and specify the number of ports you want to add.
           
                                                                                                               

   14.   You should now get the PortServer configuration screen showing the com ports the PortServer will be assigned.
           
                                                                                                               

   15.    Click Finish.

   16.    Your PortServer should now show up under Device Manger, Multi-port Serial Adapters and the com ports added under Ports.
