SCSI Terminal Server SCSI ID Configuration SCSI Terminal Server SCSI ID Configuration
Symptom:
How do I set the SCSI ID (address) on the SCSI
Terminal Server?
Solution:
On older units, there is a rotary switch. Simply
point the arrow at the desired number. Be careful, though, some make the
mistake of not being sure it's the "point" end of the arrow they're
looking at.
On newer units, there is a four position dipswitch on the
back. The three rightmost switches in the four position dip switch bank
(numbered 2,3, and 4) are the SCSI ID switches. Here are the possible
valid SCSI ID settings:
Switches
2 3 4 | SCSI ID (address)
--- --- --- | -----------------
OFF OFF OFF | SCSI ID 0
OFF OFF ON | SCSI ID 1
OFF ON OFF | SCSI ID 2
OFF ON ON | SCSI ID 3
ON OFF OFF | SCSI ID 4
ON OFF ON | SCSI ID 5
ON ON OFF | SCSI ID 6
ON ON ON | SCSI ID 7
SCSI ID 7 is not a recommended setting. Typically this is
the address of the SCSI controller card in the system.
The SCSI ID is set ONLY on power up. You must power cycle
(remove and reapply power to) our unit in order for the new setting to be
recognized.
