Getting Error message "drp sent reset to node xx - improper port number"
Getting Error message "drp sent reset to node xx - improper port number" Getting Error message "drp sent reset to node xx - improper port number"

Symptom:

In SCO OpenServer, after adding node using 'drpadmin', getting error "drp sent reset to node xx - improper port number".

Solution:

There are two most common causes:

1. If 'xx' is the node number of one of the configured nodes (use 'show' option after inoking drpadmin), then please make sure that driver version is 3.0.1a or later, and device type is set for 'rp' on PortServer

2.If xx is greater than number of the last configured node, or you have not configured any nodes yet, then error message is caused by remnants of devices from previos driver isnstall.

#cd /etc/conf/cf.d

#more mdevice | grep drp. 6th column should list major numbers.

#ls -l /dev | grep major_number_of 'drp' device and remove those devices.
