How do you emulate standard COM ports with the ISA Classic board? How do you emulate standard COM ports with the ISA Classic board? Run the Classic CFG utility from a clean DOS boot
Select F3 to Edit New Profile
Select "No" for PnP Mode
Select "Digi" for Control Register Int Mode
Select a unique value for the Control Register I/O
Select IRQ 3 for the Control Register IRQ
Select 3F8 for the port address for Port 1, 2F8 for the port address for Port 2, and unique I/O addresses for all other ports listed
Tab over to the IRQ field located next to the I/O Base setting for Port 1
Use the arrow keys to select IRQ 4
Select F5 to Write New Profile to Board
Select F6 to Write New Profile to Disk
Select and name the profile you created
Select F10 to Exit
These settings will configure Port 1 on the Classic board as standard COM 1 (3F8, IRQ 4) and Port 2 on the Classic board as standard COM 2 (2F8, IRQ 3)
