I am having trouble using an Epson Stylus Color or HP Deskjet printer with the Acceleport USB parallel port. I am having trouble using an Epson Stylus Color or HP Deskjet printer with the Acceleport USB parallel port. Epson Stylus Color
The Windows 9x driver shipped with the Epson Stylus Color printer only supports the parallel ports on the PC's mainboard and will not function properly with third party parallel ports such as the Acceleport USB parallel port. There is an EPSON Stylus COLOR driver which ships on the Windows 98 CD that will work, but it will not allow access to some of the enhanced features of the driver shipped with the printer, such as ink level monitoring. It also does not support the enhanced Epson printer queue manager software. It is in the \drivers\printers\epson\ directory on the 98 CDROM.
HP Deskjet
The Windows 9x driver shipped with this printer only supports the parallel ports on the PC's mainboard and will not function properly with third party parallel ports such as the Acceleport USB parallel port. There are some HP Deskjet drivers which ship on the Windows 98 CD that will work with those models, but maybe not on some newer models which don't show up there. However, these drivers may not allow access to some of the enhanced features of the driver shipped with the printer, such as ink level monitoring. They also may not support any enhanced queue manager software which may also be present in the drivers shipped with the printer. They are in the \drivers\printers\hp\ directory on the 98 CDROM.
