In
Device Manager, find the device you want to uninstall, this is usually under
Multi-port serial adapters.
Right-click on the device and select Uninstall (see
Figure 1).

2. Open Windows Explorer by right clicking on the Start button and
selecting Explore. Locate the
\WINNT\inf directory.
You will need to remove the following files:
digirp.inf
digirp.pnf
digirprt.inf
digirprt.pnf
3. Now locate the oem#.inf and oem#.pnf files (see Figure 2).

Double-click on each OEM#.INF file and verify the files contains Digi RealPort
in it (see Figure 3).
Any OEM#.INF file with Digi RealPort
in it, will need to be deleted as well, along with the associated OEM#.PNF file.
FOR EXAMPLE: Here we will delete oem1.inf, and
oem1.pnf.

In systems that have the original RealPort driver that was built into the
Windows 2000 CD (Version 2.0.0.0),
you will need to remove the following files from the \WINNT\system32\
directory:
digirlpt.dll
dgrpsetu.dll

In the \WINNT\system32\drivers directory find and delete
digirlpt.sys.

At this point you have successfully removed the Digi RealPort Driver.
8.
If you want to reinstall the driver, go to
11.
Select Add a New Device and click Next.12. Select No, I want to select the hardware from a list option (see
Figure 4). Click Next.

11. Select Multi-port serial adapters
(see Figure 5). Click Next.

12. Click
on the Have Disk button and browse to the location where you have downloaded and
extracted the driver from our web site
(www.digi.com)
and select digirp.inf (see Figure 6).

13. Click
on the Open button and then click OK on the next screen that confirms the driver
path.
14. Select the
appropriate Digi device from the modules list (see Figure 7).

15. Click
Next and Next again to go with the default hardware
settings.
16. Click
Yes to the Digital Signature not found message box.
It will copy some files, and then ask
for the IP address of the device.
Enter the appropriate values and click Next
(see Figure 8).

17. Give the device any name you
would like and specify the number of ports you wish to
configure
at this time (see Figure 9). Click Next.
NOTE: For the device name it
maybe helpful if you
have multiple devices to give each device a unique name so
it is easily identifiable.

18. Now click
Finish and then Finish again, and you have successfully completed the new driver
installation.
