When Connecting to a Port via HyperTerminal, an Error: Unable to Open COMX, is Reported. When Connecting to a Port via HyperTerminal, an Error: Unable to Open COMX, is Reported.

Problem:

When I try to connect to one of the com ports on the Digi board using Hyperterminal, I get an
error: Unable to open Comx.


Solution:

Make sure the services for RRAS, Citrix, or any other communications program configured to use the Digi
com ports has been stopped.   RRAS and most fax applications open the COM ports when they start up and
continuously monitor the port, thus preventing any other application from using that com port (i.e. Hyperterminal).

To test with HyperTerminal, you must first stop these services.  Until they are stopped, you will not be able to do any
testing.  If you are having problems getting an applications services stopped, please contact the application vendor.
