WAN Mini-Port is Not Available with the DataFire Basic Adapter WAN Mini-Port is Not Available with the DataFire Basic Adapter
Problem:
I have a DataFire Basic Adapter and cannot establish a connection with dialup networking
and Windows9x,
because WAN Mini-Port is not available.
Solution:
- Under CONTROL PANEL> NETWORK, make sure that WAN Mini-Port is installed correctly.
If you do not see it, you will
need to install it. To
do so you will need the WAN Mini-Port driver, which is in the
download file VINWM.EXE.
- Check the file TELEPHON.INI file, in the Windows Directory, to see if there
is a double entry for WAN.TSP.
(once with and once without a trail
entry):
Bad Telephon.ini

If this doesn't resolve the problem, you may have a corrupt installation of the
Microsoft ISDN Accelerator Pack. Try reinstalling it. Remove
the Microsoft ISDN Accelerator Pack V1.1 from CONTROL PANEL> SOFTWARE> WINDOWS
SETUP> CONNECTIONS> and install it again using the floppy diskette after restarting the system.
For Example: a:/english/MSISDN11.EXE
If you copy files from the Win95 CD-ROM, it will ask you if the file NDIS.VXD
should be kept (default is = YES).
NOTE: It is important
that the file be kept.
