  1. Where can I download the latest Datafire GO! drivers for Windows 95?

  2.  The latest Datafire GO! drivers can be downloaded from
     our ftp site:  ftp://ftp.digi.com/support/legacy/digi/drivers/win95/
The downloadable filename is 4001557B.exe.  This is version 3.0.1
     of the driver.

  3. Where can I download the latest Datafire GO! drivers for Windows NT?

  4. The latest Datafire GO! drivers can be downloaded from our ftp site:
    ftp://ftp.digi.com/support/legacy/digi/drivers/winnt/.  The downloadable
filename is 4001493C.exe.  This is version 1.2.1 of the driver.
    3.  I want to use MULTILINK PPP with the DATAFIRE GO! card, what do I
           need?

    You will need the following:

    1.  REV C or higher firmware installed on the DATAFIRE GO! card.
    2.  VERSION 3.0.0 or higher drivers.
    3.  DIALUP NETWORKING 1.3 must be installed.

NOTE: Multilink support for the DATAFIRE GO! card is ONLY available under the WINDOWS 95 Operating System.

    4.   The drivers seemed to install properly, but when I configure the board
using the Configuration Wizard, I get a "CANNOT COMMUNICATE
          WITH DEVICE" error. What's wrong?

There is probably some kind of device conflict with in the system.  Check the following:

    1.  Check for INFRARED devices. If they exist, disable them.
    2.  Check the device status within the DEVICE MANAGER. If all of the devices show "WORKING PROPERLY" then check for any possible IRQ or PORT conflicts with other defined devices, e.g.: other modems, COM ports, or NICs.
    3.  Check for EMM386 exclude statements within the SYSTEM.INI file or within the CONFIG.SYS file. If there are any EXCLUDE statements remove them, restart the system and try to configure the card again.

If the above areas do not resolve the issue, use the print function under the DEVICE MANAGER, and print out the SYSTEM SUMMARY and ALL DEVICES, along with the SYSTEM.INI, CONFIG.SYS, AUTOEXEC.BAT and WIN.INI FILES. Then contact DIGI TECHNICAL SUPPORT at (612)912-3456.

    5.   How do I get MLPPP connections with the DATAFIRE GO! ISDN card
          under WINDOWS NT?
MLPPP is currently not supported under Windows NT with the DATAFIRE GO! ISDN adapter.

    6.   When using Windows NT and the DATAFIRE GO! ISDN card we only get connected at 33.6 kbps
          over an ISDN line.

This is an invalid response from the DATAFIRE GO! ISDN adapter.
The actual connection will be at either 64 kbps or 56 kbps.  The reason for this is that to the WINDOWS NT operating system the DATAFIRE GO!  product appears as a MODEM which is expected to return a connection rate
message to RAS, rather than as a NETWORK INTERFACE device.  This problem is cosmetic and has been reported to our engineering department.

    7.   I have the DATAFIRE GO! ISDN S/T adapter, and want to install it in a WINDOWS NT system. The
only switches that are shown are AT&T, Northern Telecom, or National ISDN1, and I need to select for
EURO ISDN or NET 3. How can I do this?
The Configuration Wizard for the Windows NT environment is currently available for the DATAFIRE GO! ISDN U card. Since this card is currently only for use in North America, no selection was provided for European switches. The work around for this is to use the HYPER TERMINAL application and manually set the correct switch type using AT commands. The correct command to set it to a NET 3 or EURO ISDN switch type is AT!CO=4. To set the directory numbers (DN) use AT!N1="DN number" for the first directory number and AT!N2="DN number" for the second directory number. NOTE the AT!CO= reads AT!SEE OH not AT!SEE ZERO.

    8.   When dialing out with Dial Up Networking on an ISDN line, I get an error indicating "NO DIAL TONE".
When I look at the DIGI BRI DIAGNOSTICS, VIEW, CARD STATUS, the line shows "Layer 3 active
for all configured links" and the activation state = Activated. Why can't I dial out?
With no application accessing the DATAFIRE GO! ISDN adapter, verify the color of the ISDN SYNC LED. If it is not lit or if it is red, you may have a power saving feature on the system enabled which removes power to the PCMCIA adapter socket when it is not in active use by an application. To verify this go into the DIGI BRI DIAGNOSTICS, and verify the ISDN SYNC light. If it changes to GREEN then power saving is enabled. You will need to disable this feature.

    9.   When attempting to dial out, I get an error indicating "NO DIAL TONE".

Run the DIGI BRI DIAGNOSTICS. Click on "FILE", Open Adapter.  Select VIEW and CARD STATUS.  Check the status of the layers:

    1.  Status should show Layer 3 active for all links and Activation STATE = activated.
If it shows Layer 2 active for all configured links, check link 1 and link 2.

    2.  If Layer 3 for either link 1 or link 2 show not initialized, it indicates an error with either
the switch type or SPID number associated with that LOGICAL TERMINAL.

    3.  If Layer 2 does not show as being active, it is typically a line issue.

    4.  If Layer 1 does not show Activated it is typically a line or wiring issue or a bad ISDN DONGLE.

    10.  The configuration for the DATAFIRE GO! is not maintained when installed in conjunction with Dialup
           Networking version 1.2.
    1. Uninstall the DATAFIRE GO!.
    2. Remove Dial Up Networking version 1.2.
    3. Shut down the system
    4. Physically remove the DATAFIRE GO! card from the system and then restart.
    5. Install the ORIGINAL VERSION of Dial Up Networking. Making sure that the NETBEUI protocol is bound to the Dial Up Adapter.
    6. Reinstall the DATAFIRE GO!.
    7. Restart the system.
    8. Copy the CFGWIZ32.EXE file from the Windows\System directory to a different directory.
    9. Install Dial Up Networking 1.2
    10. Restart the system
    11. Copy the CFGWIZ32.EXE file BACK to the Windows\System Directory.
    12. Restart the System.

    11.   How do I uninstall the DATAFIRE GO!?

      • DIGICBRI.SYS
      • DIGICXP.VXD
      • DIGIDFGO.HLP

      • DIGIVIEW.EXE
      • MDMDFGO.INF
      • MFDFGO.INF
      • NETDFGO.INF
    15. Once these entries are deleted, the uninstall is complete.

    12.  Can the DATAFIRE GO be used in a MACINTOSH based environment?

YES! To use the DATAFIRE GO! in the Macintosh environment, you need to add it in as a STANDARD PCMCIA
MODEM. Depending on the OS version a generic modem CL file is available. If using MAC OS 8 however, the
generic modem CL was removed. Documentation on how to create a modem CL file is contained on the MAC OS 8
CD. NOTE: In this environment, you will be limited to a single channel call. There is NO support for Multilink PPP.
Once added as a STANDARD MODEM, the DATAFIRE GO! can be configured for correct ISDN configuration
using AT comands via a terminal emulation application.

    13.  The Datafire GO! ISDN device is not showing up under the dial-up server options for Dial Up
           Networking.
Update to Dial Up Networking version 1.3.

    14.  I'm having trouble installing the Datafire GO! Product under Windows 95.  Under
Control Panel, System, Device Manager, the PCMCIA controller for my laptop is a TI1130 controller.
You need to apply an update to Windows 95 from Micron's web site:
     http://www.micronpc.com/support/file_lib/bbs/transxpe.html
     The downloadable filename is CBSSUPD.EXE.
