Hardware Debug with the DataFire Basic Adapter
Hardware Debug with the DataFire Basic Adapter Hardware Debug with the DataFire Basic Adapter

Problem:

How do you use Hardware Debug with the DataFire Basic adapter?

Solution:

  • First it is necessary to check whether the DataFire Basic owns a so-called service interface. This is done with the command: RDEEPROM. It will say:

SERVICE INTERFACE: PRESENT or NOT PRESENT.

A hardware debug can only be done on an adapter, if the SERVICE INTERFACE is PRESENT.

  • You will need a standard RS-232 cable (no null modem cable), with a 1:1 pin layout.
  • In your terminal program, set the port parameters to 19.200 bit/s, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity (19200, 8N1) and no flow control.
  • Enter +K, +T, +I one after the other in the terminal window.
  • Press the SPACE key, and enter the debug parameters, which the Digi support staff have given you.
