Distribution by MSN Distribution by MSN
Problem:
How can you realize MSN distribution with FaxWare over
CAPI 1.1, which only supports EAZ?
Solution:
FaxWare gives you the option to distribute incoming faxes
from a Euro-ISDN port via multi-subscriber numbers (MSN).
How do you configure FaxWare on a standard S0 so that the TLDīs only react to
certain Multi Subscriber Numbers?
How is it possible to distribute via MSNs?
The solution to both of these questions is easy and
efficient.
First, the root of the problem:
Even though FaxWare supports the Euro-ISDN standard, the TLD which FaxWare uses
is a CAPI 1.1 application. These TLDīs are by definition only made to
work with terminal selection digits (EAZ). Yet, MSN's are usually made up
of more than one digit. However, because MSNīs differ in the last
digit, it is simply used as terminal selection digit (see the following table):
| MSN |
EAZ |
| 9752000 |
0 |
| 9752002 |
2 |
| 9752104 |
4 |
This means that:
- To distribute incoming faxes, always use terminal
selection digits.
- To use a TLD for a specific multi-subscriber number
(MSN), the parameter DEVICENUMBER (in the TLD.INI ) has to be configured the
same as the corresponding EAZ.
This work around allows you to use a maximum of ten
different multi-subscriber numbers (MSNs). This is not a real restriction
because once more than ten numbers becomes necessary, direct dial-in (DDI
routing) can be used..
