- What is the SyncPort?
The SyncPort was Digi's original intelligent synchronous adapter.
- What bus types are supported with the SyncPort?
There are ISA and PCI versions.
- How many lines (ports) are on the SyncPort?
The SyncPort has two lines, which are represented on the rear of the card by
two DB-15 male connectors.
- What clock rates does the SyncPort support?
The adapter supports clock rates up to E1(2.048Mb); lower rates are also
supported, e.g. 19.2k, 56k, 256k, 1.544Mb(T1), etc.
- What operating systems have device driver support?
The only currently developed device driver is for Windows 2000. The
most current version of this driver comes on the CD-ROM from
Microsoft. There were, however, drivers for SCO Unix, and Windows NT.
The SCO Unix drivers were discontinued some time ago, and are no longer
supported. The Windows NT 3.51 and 4.0 drivers were discontinued in
early 1999.
- Where can the older versions of the device drivers
be located?
The SCO Unix drivers are no longer available. The Windows NT drivers
are still available via ftp at http://supportold.digi.com/support/legacy/digi/drivers/winnt/.
The driver consists of two 1.44Mb floppy diskettes. The two
filenames are 4001559B.exe and 4001560B.exe.
- What is the last released version of the Windows NT
drivers?
The last released Windows NT driver was v2.01.
- What protocols are support with the NT drivers?
Frame Relay and X.25
- What cable types were available for the SyncPort?
The following cable types were manufactured and sold: V.24(EIA-232),
V.11(X.21), V.35 and V.36.
- Was there a Driver Development Kit (DDK) available
for the SyncPort?
No there was not.
- Are there any third party drivers available?
There are no known third party drivers available.
