Escape Character doesn't close Telnet Session Escape Character doesn't close Telnet Session

Symptom:

After doing a telnet to a port on the PortServer device and then using the escape character ^] to exit the session, the session is still active.

Cause:

If you use the escape character ^] and press enter, this will only back you out of the session, but not close the session.

Solution:

To completely back out and close the session use the escape character ^] followed by a period, rather than the enter key.
