Symptom:

My Compaq Prolient 3000 fails to recognize my Acceleport 4R-920 card in Windows 2000?

Cause:

The Compaq Prolient 3000 series of servers needs to have the Smart Start utility run to physically recognize the change of hardware.

Solutions:

To run the Smart Start utility: This is most often run by pressing a character, (F1, F10) during the BIOS portion of the boot-up cycle. When entering the Smart Start utility you will have the option of managing the hardware. When entering this portion of the utility the machine will normally scan the bus for hardware changes. This will normally locate the Digi Adapter and install it as a Network adapter, a simple communications Adapter, or possibly a Digi Adapter. Once this has been recognized, and the changes have been saved. The Digi Adapter’s driver may now be loaded in the operating System.
