The Windows NT Event Viewer displays an error message "Unable to properly access ntx* memory. Compare memory addresses..."
Symptom: The Windows NT Event Viewer displays an error message "Unable to properly access ntx* memory. Compare memory addresses..."
Cause: There is either a memory address conflict with another device, or, the block of memory has not been reserved in the system board's BIOS for use with a non-PnP ISA adpater.
Solutions:
The memory address chosen during the driver installation is being used another device in the system. If you installed the driver using a memory address of D0000, for example, try using D8000 instead. Many systems provide a means of reserving a block of memory for use by a non-PnP ISA adapter in the system BIOS. This option is is usually found under the PNP/PCI Configuration area. However, this varies by system board manufacturer and BIOS version, so check with your system board manual or check with the system board manufacturer for details on how to reserve the block of memory. If the memory cannot be reserved, Windows NT will often report the error message as if there is an adapter installed at that memory address. Some systems do not allow a memory block to be reserved. If ths is true of your computer system, you can check for a BIOS update, or simply try each available memory address for the Digi driver. If this still does not work, you may have to try another computer system which allows reserving a memory block for a non-PnP ISA adapter in the BIOS.
