When trying to create an LPR printer in Windows 2000 I have no LPR print option to select as displayed in the FAQ. When trying to create an LPR printer in Windows 2000 I have no LPR print option to select as displayed in the FAQ. Symptom: There is no local LPR port in Windows 2000
Cause:
There are two possible causes, either
- The Unix Print Services have not been added, or,
- The Unix Print Services have not been started.
Solutions:
Using the “Add/ Remove Software” wizard, you need to “Add new Windows Component” locate and add the Unix Print Services under the “Other Network File and Print Services section”
Under “Administrative tools”, “Services”, Locate and start the “UNIX Print Service”
