With Windows NT I am experiencing printing problems or fax transmission errors when sending data through my Digi ports.
Symptom: I am experiencing printing problems, incomplete print jobs, incomplete faxes, or fax transmission errors when sending data through my Digi ports.
Cause: The print or fax application is closing the port before all the data has been transmitted.
Solution: Enable the "Complete Writes When Transmit Complete" option. To do this go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, Network, Adapters. Highlight the Digi Adapter and select Properties. Select the port which you wish to use for printing or faxing, select Properties and "check" the checkbox to enable "Complete Writes When Transmit Complete". This is a "Per Port" option, so be sure to do this for each port which will be used for printing or faxing. OK, OK, OK and reboot the system for the changes to take effect. Note: For most Digi adapters the option and instructions are as above. For the AccelePort Xp driver the instructions are the same until you select the port and then properties. Then select the Advanced Tab, then check the box for the "Enable Write Complete When Sent" option. Repeat this for each port to be used for printing or faxing. OK, OK, OK, and reboot. Also note that Digi highly recommends that when this option is enabled for the AccelePort Xp, that the adapter "Low Latency" option is also enabled.
