With Windows NT, RAS or RRAS fails to answer incoming calls with my 28800 or faster modems attached to my AccelepPort Xem Ports/8em or Ports/16em modules. Symptom: With Windows NT, RAS or RRAS fails to answer incoming calls with my 28800 or faster modems attached to my AccelepPort Xem Ports/8em or Ports/16em modules.
Cause: Early models (manufactured prior to 1996) of the Ports16/em and Ports 8/em modules used line drivers which became obsoleted with the invention of 28800 and faster modems.
Solutions: If you have a Ports/16em or Ports/8em module, check the serial number of your external module. Serial numbers starting with an "A" or an "8" can be updated for a fee. Modules with serial numbers starting with a "D" or "V" already have the latest line drivers installed.
