Windows NT Event Log Error: The open procedure for service DigiFep5 in DLL fepctrs.dll failed. Windows NT Event Log Error: The open procedure for service DigiFep5 in DLL fepctrs.dll failed.

Symptom:

The Windows NT event viewer application reports error message: "The open procedure for service DigiFep5 in DLL fepctrs.dll failed.  Performance data for this service will not be available.  Status code returned is DWORD 0."

Cause
:

This error message will not affect the use of the Digi adapter.  It is only informing you that if you use Performance Monitor, there will be data regarding the Digi adapter that is not available.

Solution:

You can just ignore the message and continue to use the Digi adapter.  However, to remove these error messages from being reported, follow these steps:
  1. Start the registry editor by typing start regedt32 from the command prompt.
  2. Select the following: HKEY_LOCAL_ MACHINE on Local Machine, System, CurrentControlSet, Services, DigiFep5, Performance.
  3. Highlight the open key and press Delete.  Reboot the system and check the event viewer to verify that the error messages do not reoccur.
CAUTION: Any mistakes made in editing the registry may have disasterous results requiring you to boot to a different Control Set or to reload Windows NT.
