Printing to ports above COM9 in Windows 95/98/ME.
Printing to ports above COM9 in Windows 95/98/ME. Printing to ports above COM9 in Windows 95/98/ME.

Symptom:

I can't print to my printer on COM10 or higher in Windows 95/98/ME.

  • Because the print spooler in Windows 95/98/ME is 16-bit, printers are only supported on ports up to COM9. Place any printers on com ports numberd below COM10, and use ports COM10 and higher for modems or other devices without the 9 port limitation.
