How do I install the AccelePort USB devices on Windows 95/98/ME? How do I install the AccelePort USB devices on Windows 95/98/ME?
Plug the device in, and follow the prompts. Windows will ask you for the location of the drivers twice, the first when it enumerates the unit, and the second when it starts enumerating the actual ports. This is a behavior of Windows that we have seen with other non-Digi USB products, but it appears to be harmless. Simply point Windows back to the source of the driver (disk or directory) and the install should continue.
The 2- and 4-port models use the same driver files, so if you add more similar units they will install automatically. The 8-port unit uses different driver files, so if you add any 8-port units, or a 2- or 4-port unit where only 8s had been installed, Windows will need to be pointed to the driver files again.
