The strongly recommended way to do this is to run the deldgusb.exe utility located where the driver file has been extracted on your hard drive. However, if you want to go through the process manually it can be done, but this procedure may fail if we make significant changes to the driver environment. As of driver versions 1.011 and prior, the procedure is below.

Manual removal is not generally recommended, due to the fact that it requires manual editing of the all critical Registry. Be warned that Registry corruption can render a system unbootable and/or unreliable, and we accept no liability if this happens as a result of trying the following procedure.

To manually delete the USB driver versions 1.011 and earlier and clean the registry of driver entries do the following:

• Disconnect all of our units from the bus and do the following procedure to clean the system, reboot, and re-install the drivers.
• To clean up registry: Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINEEnum
• Delete CENDATABUS (if it's there).
• Open RootPorts, if there are 0000, 0001, 0002, 0003 subkeys, delete them.
• Open USB, delete all subkeys starting with VID_05C5.
• Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESystemCurrentControlSetServicesClass
• Open Ports, delete CenDataUsb if it is there. Then go through all (remaining) subkeys, delete each one with PortDriver being cdusb0.vxd.
• Open USB, go through all subkeys, delete each one with DeviceDesc starting with "CenData" or "Central Data" or "Acceleport(R) USB...".
• To delete the actual driver files from the hard drive, start Windows Explorer, open WindowsInfOther (actually should be %WINDIR%infother, depending on what windows directory is), delete all files beginning with "Central Data" or "Digi International". Then also go into the WindowsSystem directory and remove cdusb0.vxd, cdusbpnp.vxd, and cdusb.sys for Central Data driver versions. For Digi driver releases the file names are the same except they start with "dgusb" instead of "cdusb".
• Reboot the machine.
• If you did this to do a fresh installation of a new driver, then you may now plug the unit back in and start over.
