After doing a telnet to a port on a PortServer or Terminal Server device and issuing the escape character ^], the telnet session is still active. After doing a telnet to a port on a PortServer or Terminal Server device and issuing the escape character ^], the telnet session is still active.
If you use the escape character ^] (Ctrl key plus "]" key) and press enter, this will only back you out of the session, but not close the session. This is a function of specifications for telnet and is not a problem of the PortServer or Terminal Server device.
To completely back out and close the session use the escape character ^] followed by a period, rather than the enter key. Then press Enter.
