How to setup the Portserver CM32 for Clustering.
How to setup the Portserver CM32 for Clustering. How to setup the Portserver CM32 for Clustering.

For the Clustering configuration, you should have only one valid IP for the Master and invalid IPs for the Slave(s).

- Master Configuration:

conf.eth_ip (invalid IP)
conf.eth_mask (network mask)
conf.eth_ip_alias (valid IP)
conf.eth_mask_alias (network mask)

all.socket_port 70nn
all.protocol socket_server or socket_ssh
all.authtype radius/loca/none
all.ipno (ip for the ports)
##all.ipno is applied only for the MASTER ports##

#local serial ports

s1.tty ttyS1
s2.tty ttyS2

s4.tty ttyS4
s5.tty ttyS5

s8.tty ttyS8
s9.tty ttyS9

s16.tty ttyS16
s17.tty ttyS17
s18.tty ttyS18

s32.tty ttyS32

# Slave ports (in the sequence of the local ports)

s33.tty (*)
s33.tty :socket_port (*)
s33.serverfarm

s34.tty
s34.serverfarm

snn.tty ttySnn (last port of the last Slave unit).

(*) See the Portserver CM32 manual for more details about these two options.

- Slave configuration:

conf.eth_ip
conf.eth_mask

all.protocol socket_server #it cannot be socket_ssh!
all.authtype none # it must be ´none´!
all.socket_port 7033+

s1.tty ttyS1
s4.tty ttyS4
s8.tty ttyS8
s16.tty ttyS16
s32.tty ttyS32

(*) Refer to the Portserver CM32 Manual for more info about Clustering.

EXAMPLE of CLUSTERING CONFIGURATION
Below is just an example of how the configuration would be for the
Master and Slave(s):

Master: CM32
Slave 1: CM32
Slave 2: CM32

- IP address of your network
200.150.100.0/255.255.255.0

- IP address of your clustering network
10.10.10.0/255.255.255.0

- primary IP of the Master (for the clustering)
10.10.10.1/255.255.255.0

- secondary IP of the Master (for your network to communicate to the other machines)
200.150.100.1/255.255.255.0

- primary IP of the Slave 1 (for the clustering)
10.10.10.20/255.255.255.0

- primary IP of the Slave 2 (for the clustering)
10.10.10.21/255.255.255.0

- hostname of the Master
CM32-Master

- a Sun Server connected to port 4 of Slave 1.

- alias of the port 4 in the Slave 1.
