The RJ45-DB25 cable shipped with many of the PortServer products is a terminal/printer cable, intended to be used with a dumb terminal to configure the PortServer. If you are trying to connect a PC to your PortServer to configure it, you will need to use a terminal emulator cable. If your PortServer came with an RJ45-DB9 cable as well, that is the cable to use.
