The following cable guides are only for use with plastic C/CONs.
RS422 Local Cable Configuration
Local Cabling requires the use of Shielded Cable (STP Cat 3 or higher is
fine, UTP cable cannot be used reliably). Local cabling will not work
reliably if it is run through patch panels. A direct cable run from server
to concentrator is required. The cable is limited to 1000 feet, if you
need a longer cable, a four-wire, half-speed cable is diagrammed in the
C/Con manual.
The cable itself must be pinned as follows:

Note: The equal sign (=) in the previous diagram represents a 2200 pico
Farad capacitor linking the two adjacent signals. The 4,6 and 20 wires
must be tied together on the DB25 end of each cable.
