Configuring and Starting the Driver

After installing the Digi epca driver, it is necessary to configure the driver before using it on your system. The driver will not work until it has been configured. Use the information below to configure the Digi epca driver.

To configure the Digi epca driver, do the following:

1. Run digiConf and follow the prompts.
2. Start the driver by doing the following at the root prompt:

   RedHat Distributions enter: 

   service epca start

   Other Linux Distributions enter:

   /etc/rc.d/init.d/epca start

   to an appropriate startup script.

3. To load the driver at bootup, do the following:

   RedHat Distributions enter:

   chkconfig --add epca

   Other Linux distributions

   You can either:

   • Create a symbolic link from:

     /etc/rc.d/init.d/epca

     to an appropriate file in /etc/rc(runlevel).d/

   • Or add

   /etc/rc.d/init.d/epca start

   to an appropriate startup script.
