Master Setup Process

Use this process to install and configure the Microsoft Windows NT device driver for Acceleport RAS adapters.

1. Install the adapter. See the appropriate hardware installation card for information.

   Note: When you install multiple PCI adapters of the same type on a Windows system, it is sometimes difficult to determine which adapter you are configuring. To avoid confusion, you may wish to install and configure the adapters one at a time.

2. Install and configure the driver. See Installing the Driver: CD or Installing the  Driver: Downloaded for installation instructions; see the Digi Configuration Wizard and the online help for aid in configuring the driver.

3. If you want to use Digi ports as Windows NT RAS ports, configure RAS ports. See the following:

   • Configuring RAS Dial-in Permissions

4. If non-RAS NT applications will use Digi ports, do the following:

   • If they will use Digi modems in this configuration, configure Digi 56K digital modems. See Configuring Modems on COM Ports.

   • Configure the application to use ISDN and modem connections. See the application's documentation.

5. If you want to enable outbound calling, configure Dial-Up Networking. See Configuring Dial-Up Networking Connections.
