Troubleshooting Tips
Use these troubleshooting tips if you should have problems with your
driver installation:
- Windows logs an error report if it encounters a problem while initializing the device. You can
view these errors using the Event Viewer, EVENTVWR.EXE, supplied with Windows.
- Use the program WINMSD.EXE, supplied with Windows, to determine the hardware resources allocated
to each device. If a device fails to initialize, no resources are allocated for that device.
- Use the Digi Port Authority (DPA) for Windows application to test and
monitor all serial ports configured in your system. DPA displays specific
information for supported Digi adapters. You can download DPA from the Digi Support
Web site (http://supportold.digi.com). Use it to verify that the ports can
transmit and receive, either on a single port with a loopback adapter, or between two ports with a
null modem cable.
- Use the Digi Neo and ClassicBoard PCI Diagnostics program to test adapter hardware functions if you suspect a hardware problem. You can download
the diagnostics program from the Digi Support Web site (http://supportold.digi.com). See the release notes for information about using the program.
