Resetting the Modem

Use this procedure to reset the modem if you are not able to connect to the modem or if it gets disconnected in an abnormal way.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Modem Summary screen.
  2. Choose Modem Reset.

    3. A screen appears asking which modem you need to reset and whether you want to perform a soft or a hard reset.

  3. Enter the number of the modem you need to reset.
  4. Choose whether you want to perform a soft reset or a hard reset.
    5. Type of Reset Explanation
    soft reset All temporary setting are lost when a soft reset is done. A soft reset would be as if you issued an ATZ command to the modem. The modem would be reset and configuration profile 0 would be restored.
    hard reset A complete reset of all settings, such as when you power off and on.
  5. Choose OK.
