Resetting a Serial Port

Use this procedure to use the serial reset option. This option does the following:

• Disrupts any communication that might be happening
• Flushes out all data and returns the port to a closed state

CAUTION: Use this option with caution. Ensure you have a purpose in resetting the channel.

Procedure 

1. Go to the Serial Summary screen.
2. Choose which open port you want to reset.
3. Choose Reset.

A dialog box appears.

4. Click OK. 

Closed appears in the State field indicating that the port returned to a closed state.
