Master Setup Process

Use this procedure to set up an AccelePort RAS adapter in AIX.

Overview

1. Install the adapter. See the appropriate hardware installation card for more information.
2. Remove any previous versions of the driver from the system.  This software package is not designed to upgrade previous versions. See Uninstalling the Driver.
3. Install the AIX device driver package. See Installing a Driver: CD and Installing a Driver: Downloaded.
4. Create and Configure TTY devices in AIX. See Creating and Configuring TTYs.
5. Configure the devices for dial-in and dial-out capabilities. See Dial-in/Dial-out Configuration.
6. Configure any custom TTY settings. See Configuring a Device with Smit, Setting TTY Options and Dial-in/Dial-out Configuration.
